Arjuna's question no. Q1 (Bhagvad gita)


Bg. 2.4

अर्जुन उवाच
कथं भीष्ममहं संख्ये द्रोणं च मधुसूदन ।
इषुभिः प्रतियोत्स्यामि पूजार्हावरिसूदन ॥ ४ ॥

Arjuna said: O killer of enemies, O killer of Madhu, how can I counterattack with arrows in battle men like Bhīṣma and Droṇa, who are worthy of my worship?


Bg. 2.5

गुरूनहत्वा हि महानुभावान्
श्रेयो भोक्तुं भैक्ष्यमपीह लोके ।
हत्वार्थकामांस्तु गुरूनिहैव
भुज्ज‍ीय भोगान्‍रुधिरप्रदिग्धान् ॥ ५ ॥

It would be better to live in this world by begging than to live at the cost of the lives of great souls who are my teachers. Even though desiring worldly gain, they are superiors. If they are killed, everything we enjoy will be tainted with blood.

Bg. 2.6

न चैतद्विद्मः कतरन्नो गरीयो
यद्वा जयेम यदि वा नो जयेयुः ।
यानेव हत्वा न जिजीविषाम-
स्तेऽवस्थिताः प्रमुखे धार्तराष्ट्राः ॥ ६ ॥

Nor do we know which is better – conquering them or being conquered by them. If we killed the sons of Dhṛtarāṣṭra, we should not care to live. Yet they are now standing before us on the battlefield.

Bg. 2.7

कार्पण्यदोषोपहतस्वभावः
पृच्छामि त्वां धर्मसम्मूढचेताः ।
यच्छ्रेयः स्यान्निश्‍चितं ब्रूहि तन्मे
शिष्यस्तेऽहं शाधि मां त्वां प्रपन्नम् ॥ ७ ॥

Now I am confused about my duty and have lost all composure because of miserly weakness. In this condition I am asking You to tell me for certain what is best for me. Now I am Your disciple, and a soul surrendered unto You. Please instruct me.

Bg. 2.8

न हि प्रपश्यामि ममापनुद्याद् -
यच्छोकमुच्छोषणमिन्द्रियाणाम् ।
अवाप्य भूभावसपत्‍नमृद्धं
राज्यं सुराणामपि चाधिपत्यम् ॥ ८ ॥

I can find no means to drive away this grief which is drying up my senses. I will not be able to dispel it even if I win a prosperous, unrivaled kingdom on earth with sovereignty like the demigods in heaven.

CHAPTER TWO Divinity and Divine Service Text 1 व्यास उवाच । इति सम्प्रश्नसंहृष्टो विप्राणां रौमहर्शणिः प्रतिपूज्य वचस्तेशां प्रवक्तुमुपचक्रमे ॥ १ . २ . १ ॥ vyāsa uvāca iti sampraśna-saṁhṛṣṭo viprāṇāṁ raumaharṣaṇiḥ pratipūjya vacas teṣāṁ pravaktum upacakrame Synonyms vyāsaḥ   uvāca  — Vyāsa said;  iti  — thus;  sampraśna  — perfect inquiries;  saṁhṛṣṭaḥ  — perfectly satisfied;  viprāṇām  — of the sages there;  raumaharṣaṇiḥ  — the son of Romaharṣaṇa, namely Ugraśravā;  pratipūjya  — after thanking them;  vacaḥ — words;  teṣām  — their;  pravaktum  — to reply to them;  upacakrame  — attempted. " Hare Krishna Hare Krishna , Krishna Krishna Hare Hare    Hare Ram Hare Ram , Ram Ram Hare Hare" In Hindi In English भगवद्गीता   की विषयवस्तु में पाँच मूल सत्यों का ज्ञान निहित है । सर्व प्रथम ईश्र्वर के विज्ञान की और फिर जीवों की स्वरूप स्थिति की विवेचना की गई है । ईश्र्वर का अर्थ नियन्ता है और जीवोब का अर्थ है - नियन्त्रित । यदि जीव यह कहे कि वह नियन्त्रित नहीं है ,  अपितु स्वतन्त्र है तो समझो कि वह पागल है । जीव सभी प्रकार से ,  कम से कम बद्ध जीवन में ,  तो नियन्त्रित है ही । अतएव भगवद्गीता की विषय वस्तु ईश्र्वर तथा जीव से सम्बन्धित है । इसमें प्रकृति ,  काल ( समस्त ब्रह्माण्ड की काला वधि या प्रकृति का प्राकट्य ) तथा कर्म की भी व्याख्या है । यह दृश्य - जगत विभिन्न कार्य कलापों से ओतप्रोत है । सारे जीव भिन्न - भिन्न कार्यों में लगे हुए हैं । भगवद्गीता से हमें अवश्य सीखना चाहिए कि ईश्र्वर क्य
